Intro

long·board/ˈlôNGˌbôrd/  NOUN: A long type of skateboard.

  If you LOVE longboarding, you might want to think about making a long board! Making a longboard is a relatively time consuming project. First have to be sure that you have the available tools. The assembly of the longboard requires a sander, dremel tool, drill, screw driver/wrenches, and a scroll saw. Next there is a price range;
If you want to make a nice longboard you can expect it to cost $100-$175. The absolute lowest cost that you could get away with is $25, if you choose not to do anything extra and have garbage wheels, trucks, and bearings. Before starting, check the availability of Maple or Baltic birch wood in your area (if not you can order it online).

  1. A complete ready-to-ride longboard skateboard for sale will prove to be cheaper than buying individual components such as deck, wheels, truck, bearings, etc. and assembling them to make a complete skateboard.

    1. Precisely! Which is why this blog is completely based on making a deck! It's more fun, and far cheaper to make a quality deck than to simply purchase one. I would not recommend going around and purchasing the parts, as yes, it will be more expensive, but with the most expensive component (the actual board) being cheaper, it more than makes up for it.

      Thanks for the comment!
